You’ll visit Tanger, Chefchaouen, Fez, Midelt, Erfoud, the Sahara Desert (Merzouga), Rissani, Ifrane, and Meknes. 5 days and 4 nights.

This is your great opportunity of meeting the Moroccan culture, a civilization completely different to the one that you are accustomed to! Did you ever imagine to walk around its streets, medinas and visit its markets? With a local guide! Did you ever thought in sleeping in the middle of the desert, looking at the stars, explore the trails of the Rally Dakar in a 4×4, or contemplate the sunrise while riding a camel? You will be able of experiencing all this and much more at the same time than you rest in 4 stars hotels, after visiting the imperial cities of Morocco, like Fez or Meknes, enjoying the “Blue City” (Chefchaouen) or playing with the monkeys in Arzou… All this and much more only in one trip!

IMPORTANT! For all those who are going to travel without a passport (with the ID card), they should buy their tickets before November 20th. This is the due date to do all the procedures regarding to the entry into the country with the ID cards and regularize the situation at port.

It is compulsory to bring your valid passport or ID card. Its expiration date can’t be less than six months. The agency that organizes the trip does not assume responsibility and won’t refund any money when the customer fails to comply with the requirement.

 

ITINERARY (Susceptible to changes in the logistics)

DECEMBER 4TH

CÓRDOBA-TARIFA-TANGER-CHEFCHAOUEN-FEZ

03:00 hrs. Departure. Meeting point at the Glorieta de la Media Luna de Córdoba

07:00 hrs. Arrival to the port of Tarifa to get the boarding passes.

08:00 hrs. Departure in a fast-ferry towards Tanger. From the boat’s deck the hills of the city will appear in its entire splendor, dominated by two high towers: the one of the mosque of Mohammed V and the one of the Spanish Cathedral. In the background, and in the middle of the whisper of the waves, you may hear the muezzin’s call for the prayers, and then, you’ll feel that we have reached to our destination: Morocco, the country of the senses. Once we reach the port of Tanger, a guide will receive us and will say where to change euros to dírhams.

You’ll depart to the Rif mountains towards Chefchaouen, placed at the only intercontinental natural park and declared Natural Biosphere Reserve. Chaouen is a town placed at the mountains, white and blue, inhabited by wise, kind and polite people, and offers to the visitor a beautiful urban and slopy landscape, precious examples of local handcrafts and a feeling of quietness and serenity very difficult to find nowadays. You will leave the town with a strong wish to come back and spend more time, talk to its people and find peace.

You’ll resume our trip towards Fez, a beautiful city where the traditions of the handcrafts is still alive. It was founded by Moulaydriss at the 791, is today the religious and spiritual capital of Morocco.

FEZ

Breakfast at the hotel

09:00 hrs. You’ll have a tour with a local guide of Fez. You’ll start the tour with a panoramic view of the city, including the Merinides tombs. Then, you’ll visit Fez el Jedid, incluiding the Alahuites Square, the outer part of the Royal Palace and Dar el Makhzen. You’ll go on with a walk around Fez el Bali, whose medina has more than 7000 narrow streets, you’ll visit the Attarin spices souk, and Jenna souk. You’ll reach to Nejjarin square, where the founduk with the same name is placed and you’ll visit the Bounania Madrassa. You’ll go on towards the Es Seffarin Square to conclude the experience at the tanner’s quarter and see the tanneries.

15:00 hrs: Lunch at the hotel.

Free afternoon – Free time for dinner

20:30 hrs. OPTIONAL dinner with a folkloric show at a local restaurant.

DECEMBER 6TH

ARZOU – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

Departure by bus towards the desert.

During our route you’ll go through the Middle Atlas mountains and forests, passing by Ifrane and Arzou, an important center for artisans specialized in pieces made with wood and cedar, and you’ll go on towards Midelt. Stop and break for having lunch.

You’ll continue the trip towards Erfoud, also known as the “Desert’s Gate”, where you’ll leave our bus to go on with the route in a 4×4 towards Merzouga. You’ll see the marine fossile quarries which are more than 360 millions of years old. You’ll ride around some of the tracks used for the Rally París-Dakar and you’ll also have the choice to meet with the nomads of the desert.

You’ll go on with the trip towards the Gran Erg Cherbi, that means “desert with fine sand dunes”, where your settlement is placed and where you will have your first contact with the Sahara. You’ll spend the night in khaimas, that means “tent made with dromedary’s fur”, similar to these ones used by the nomads and you’ll enjoy a magic night with a dinner under the stars with party and shows.

DECEMBER 7TH

MERZOUGA – RISSANI – MEKNES

You’ll see the sunrise in the Sahara. Its dunes extend to the horizon and some of them could have an elevation higher than 150m.

The experience of comtemplating how the first sun rays appear in the horizon of the Sahara is stunning. To wake up early to have un unforgetting experience with the sunrise is a must. You’ll leave the settlement at night to see the sunrise from the dunes. You’ll admire the different colours that the sand acquires depending on the sun position.

After a good berber breakfast you’ll go for a camel ride around the fine sand dunes.

Them, you’ll go with the 4×4 to Rissani, riding around some of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally through the rock desert, where you’ll see fossils quarries of thousands of years, and also the possibility of meeting with some nomads.

In Rissani you’ll take again your bus and you’ll go on towards Meknes, an amazing city surrounded by walls that is the smallest city of the imperial capitals. Is a monumental city, surrounded by a great wall of the 16th century that is more than 40 kms long, and has the pride of having one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco: Babel Mansour.

DECEMBER 8th
MEKNES- TÁNGER – TARIFA

Panoramic visit of Meknes city, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, including Bab el Mansour and its unique food market.

Departure towards the port of Tanger

17:00: Departure of the fast ferry towards Tarifa

19:00: Arrival to Tarifa and continuation towards Córdoba.
